紀念第七次神聖普世大公會議之諸聖教父

On the Sunday that falls on or immediately after the eleventh of this month, we chant the Service to the 350 holy Fathers of the Seventh Ecumenical Council, which gathered in Nicaea in 787 under the holy Patriarch Tarasius and during the reign of the Empress Irene and her son, Constantine Porphyrogenitus, to refute the Iconoclast heresy, which had received imperial support beginning with the Edict issued in 726 by Emperor Leo the Isaurian. Many of the holy Fathers who condemned Iconoclasm at this holy Council later died as Confessors and Martyrs for the holy Icons during the second assult of Iconoclasm in the ninth century, especially during the reigns of Leo the Armenian and Theophilus.

在帡幪月11日至17日之間的主日，我們舉行禮儀，紀念參加第七次普世大公會議的350位聖教父。主後726年，皇帝良三世頒布反對聖像敬禮的法令，在帝國政府的支持下，開始了聖像破壞運動。在伊肋內太后和她的兒子君士坦丁六世皇帝在位期間，於787年，在塔拉西宗主教的主持下，為了反對破壞聖像異端，在尼西亞召集了大公會議。許多參加大公會議並判罰破壞聖像異端的聖教父，在第九世紀破壞聖像異端再度猖獗期間，特别是在亞美尼亞人良五世和德奧斐祿在位期間，成為捍衛聖像敬禮的宣信者及殉道者。

Most glorified art Thou, O Christ our God, Who hast established our Fathers as luminous stars upon the earth, and through them didst guide us all to the true Faith. O Most Merciful One, glory be to Thee.

基督，我們的天主，祢是最為榮耀者，祢使我們的教父成為世上的明亮星辰，藉藉他們引導我們眾人進入真信仰。至仁慈者啊，願光榮歸於祢。

The preaching of the Apostles and the doctrines of the Fathers confirmed the one Faith in the Church. And wearing the garment of truth woven from the theology on high, she rightly divideth and glorifieth the great mystery of piety.

宗徒們的宣講及教父們的道理在教會中確定了唯一的信仰。教會穿上了由自上而來的神學所織成的外衣，正確地分解偉大的敬虔奧秘，並光榮了這一奧秘。

The Son Who shone forth from the Father ineffably was born, twofold of nature, of a woman. Beholding Him, we deny not the image of His form; but depicting it piously, we revere it faithfully. And for this cause, the Church, in that it holdeth the true Faith, doth venerate the icon of Christ’s incarnation.

由父放射光芒的子無可言喻地由一個女人誕生了，祂具有雙重的本性。我們瞻仰祂，對繪有祂形像的聖像並不加以否認；我們虔誠地描繪聖像，信實地敬禮它。為此緣故，持有正信的教會敬禮基督降生成人的聖像。
