Ἀλλότριον τῶν μητέρων, Εἱρμὸς θ΄, Ἦχος πλ. δ΄

Ἀλλότριον τῶν μητέρων ἡ παρθενία, καὶ ξένον ταῖς παρθένοις ἡ παιδοποιΐα, ἐπὶ σοὶ Θεοτόκε ἀμφότερα ᾠκονομήθη. Διό σε πᾶσαι αἱ φυλαὶ τῆς γῆς, ἀπαύστως μακαρίζομεν.

Virginity is alien to mothers, and childbirth is foreign to virgins; in thee, O Theotokos, both were granted. Wherefore, all we the tribes of the earth call thee blest unceasingly.

Isaac Lambertson 譯文：

Foreign to mothers is virginity, and strange is childbirth to virgins; yet both were accomplished in thee, O Theotokos. Wherefore, all of us, the peoples of the world, magnify thee unceasingly.

《慶節禮典》譯文：

Virginity is alien to motherhood, and child-bearing is a thing strange to virgins: yet in thee, O Theotokos, both are to be found. Therefore we and all the nations of the earth without ceasing call thee blessed.

童貞與母親的身份毫不相容，生兒育女對童貞女來說是件怪事，但在你身上，天主之母啊，卻發現了這兩者。因此，我們和地上的萬國都不停地稱你為有福。
