週年聖頌集：宗徒月十八日

神聖的殉道者萊翁提

這位神聖的殉道者來自希臘。他身材魁梧，力大無比，是羅馬軍團中一名傑出的士兵，打了很多勝仗，並以謹慎和清醒的頭腦而聞名。當人們得知他從帝國的倉庫中拿出糧食給窮人，而且是一個基督徒時，腓尼基總督哈德良就派護民官伊帕提和士兵德奧杜祿去逮捕他。在前往腓尼基的特里波利斯的路上，聖萊翁提皈化了他們，在那裡，伊帕提和德奧杜祿因宣認基督而被哈德良處以酷刑，最後被斬首。然後，哈德良對萊翁提威逼利誘，想要使他背棄基督。但他的所有嘗試都失敗了，主後73年，在維斯帕西安在位期間，萊翁提受盡折磨而死。

Thy Martyr, O Lord, in his courageous contest for Thee * received as the prize the crowns of incorruption and life from Thee, our immortal God.* For since he possessed Thy strength, he cast down the tyrants * and wholly destroyed the demons’ strengthless presumption. * O Christ God, by his prayers, save our souls, since Thou art merciful.

主啊，祢的殉道者，在他為祢勇敢的競爭中，從祢，我們不朽的天主那裡領受了不朽與生命的冠冕的獎償。因為他擁有祢的力量，打倒了暴君，完全毀滅了魔鬼無力的妄想。天主基督，因他的祈禱，求祢拯救我們的靈魂，因為祢是仁慈的。

Thou didst wholly put to shame * the tyrants’ wicked opinions * and didst mightily rebuke * the Greeks’ ungodly religion; * with the doctrines of true rev’rence, * thou madest shine forth * godly knowledge for all men, O wise Leontius, * thou most godly-minded Martyr; * wherefore with longing * we keep thy mem’ry today.

神聖睿智的殉道者，你挫敗了暴君的邪惡圖謀，駁斥了希臘人的不虔崇拜；你以真正虔敬的教導，光照了全人類，使人認識天主。因此，萊翁提，我們懷著敬愛之情，慶祝你的紀念日。
